Michael Riley is a Senior Lecturer in Hydrogeology at the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham. Michael has research interests in groundwater flow and contaminant transport, in particular fractured rocks and biological particulates. Recent and current projects include: advanced logging investigations of aquifers in coastal environments (EU); the impact of upscaling THM processes on deep waste disposal performance assessment (NIREX); sediment filled fractures in Triassic Sandstones (EPSRC); migration of enteric viruses in deep aquifers (NERC); manufactured nano-particle migration in groundwaters (EPSRC). Recent journal publications cover hydraulic and transport testing in the field, statistical and hydraulic characterisation and simulation of flow and transport.
