Diana completed a BSc in Geology with Biology in the University of Southampton in 2003 and subsequently an MSc in Geoenvironmental Engineering in Cardiff University (2005). She then worked for four years as a Senior Environmental Scientist for Egniol Consulting Ltd, North Wales. She is currently in the 2nd year of her PhD at the University of Manchester, researching the possibility of solid phase capture of radionuclides by biomineralisation processes. This multi-disciplinary research involves the use of a wide range of analytical techniques to probe the relationships between microorganisms, minerals and radionuclides.
