Richard Pattrick

Richard Pattrick is Professor of Earth Sciences in the School of Earth Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences (SEAES) at the University of Manchester (UoM)). He has extensive experience and publications in the areas of mineral chemistry, geochemical speciation and biomineralisation using a range of spectroscopic techniques. He has particular expertise (including pioneering studies) in synchrotron radiation investigations relevant to environmental science, using X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy. Research has included the determination of surface and aqueous species, amorphous and meta-stable solids phases and the characteristics and development of oxide and sulfide bionanoparticles.
